For the syrup - Put the water and the sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat and stir till the sugar is dissolved and the liquid is clear. Meanwhile, put the raspberries in a Mason jar and pour the syrup on top. Let it cool and then cover, shake and put it in the fridge overnight.
For the drink - In a tall glass (or a Mason jar), place half a lime and the leaves of one and a half sprigs of mint. Crush the lime and mint to release the juices with the back of a large wooden spoon. Add the syrup, sparkling water, remaining mint leaves and fresh raspberries and stir. Top with ice and serve!
